Our Fabrication team have a strong reputation for quality, and their skills are in demand. Utilise your specialised pipe welding knowledge to guide our workshop team to continue to deliver to their high standards.

The Role:

As we grow our teams we are creating new roles to best support our people and our clients. This role is primarily responsible for managing and leading our Fabrication Workshop operations at our Wairakei location.

Whilst this is a Team Leader role you will still enjoy being on the tools with some hands on fabrication work at times if required.


The leadership that you bring to our workshop will allow further team growth, attract more business and contribute to business success.

Ensuring that our client projects are completed within time, budget and to client specifications and quality standards, additional tasks include:

  • Section costing, job management and supervision
  • Scheduling and allocation of people, assets and resources to fill planned work orders
  • Contractor management
  • Ensuring Fabrication QA and QC requirements are met
  • Assisting other business units with fabrication queries, estimating details and support requirements
  • Project cost management, invoicing, job costing and slippage monitoring
  • Client management including tracking project plans, variations and progress reports

About You:


As a trade qualified fabricator with an extensive background in mechanical engineering or heavy fabrication workshops you'll quickly earn the respect of your team and our clients alike.

You'll also have proven experience in a supervisory role and be proud to have developed engaged teams who are empowered to contribute to client solutions.


You'll also offer:

  • Understanding of welding codes for pressure piping
  • Experience working in a project driven environment with outstanding planning, scheduling and resourcing skills
  • Comfortable collaborating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (ideally Saviom, MEX, TechOne)
  • Knowledge of the tender/estimation process
  • Experience with invoicing and commercial awareness
