Senior Strategy Manager - Business and Corporate Banking
  • Play a key role in shaping the strategy and direction for our Business Banking (BB) and Corporate Banking (CB) divisions

The Strategy function within ASB's Business Banking and Corporate Banking divisions is focused on leading the development, execution, governance, and communication of strategy for both divisions.

The team works collaboratively with senior leaders to develop strategies that allow ASB to win in chosen markets.

Leveraging strategy tools and frameworks, the team supports problem solving and fuels strategic clarity.

  • The Senior Manager, Strategy and Planning plays a key role in shaping the strategy and direction for our Business Banking (BB) and Corporate Banking (CB) divisions.
  • In this role you will work with the Head of Strategy and senior leaders within the bank and BB and CB to develop strategies that accelerate the BB and CB's medium- and long-term goals and align to the wider bank strategy.
  • You'll use local and global market sensing/scanning of the competitive horizon, research and analysis into opportunities and challenges within and the needs of the NZ business market and utilise these insights to look at strategic initiatives, risks and opportunities for ASB.
  • We have some substantial strategies currently in play impacting the BB and CB divisions and customer interests and you will pick up and continue to manage the development of our strategic agenda. Analysing data to compile strategic insights, you'll cut through complexity and ambiguity to ensure our strategy achieves our vision for BB and CB.
  • Working with GMs and EGMs you will provide consulting and facilitation support of the strategy, ensuring our leaders and their teams fully understand it and deliver on our strategic agenda.

  • We are looking for a strategic and analytical thinker with considerable experience and proven capability in strategy development gained from consulting, professional services or other large organisations.
  • Experience within financial services is advantageous but commercial acumen and analytical skills are essential.
  • You'll be dealing with a broad range of stakeholders therefore effective communication, networking and influencing skills are required.
