KBR Telecommunications Limited is looking for an experienced Telecommunications Technician to be based in the region.


As a telecommunications technician, you will be responsible for installing fibre connections to homes and business premises across the region.

This role requires working in multiple locations and may involve weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess locations specified for installation of networking equipment.
  • Must be able to design UFB (Ultra-Fast Broadband) network infrastructure for business and residential customers.
  • Have good knowledge and must be able to read site plans, maps, and drawings to establish the positioning of the network.
  • Experience in programming and configuring SLID. (Subscriber Line ID) on ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and run speed tests over fibre.
  • Test fibreoptic connections using fibre inspection kit, power meter, and VFL.
  • Replace and repair faulty telecommunications equipment.
  • Upgrading modem in advance meter's
  • Coordinate with service providers to analyze and troubleshoot faults.
  • Calibrate telecommunication tools and testing equipment.
  • Test and maintain aerial and underground telecommunication network cables.
  • Install CAT6/5E cable from Fibre Termination Point to the desired location of ONT and RGW
  • Mount and install BUDI, FTP, ONT, and connect to FAT or CABINET
  • Set up Local Area Networks (LAN) and configure customers' site equipment to specification.
  • Install routers, servers, FTP, and other appliances for computer networks
  • Configure customerowned computers for internet and Wi-Fi access.
  • Set up and configure computer networks including. LAN and Wi-Fi under Windows and MAC environment using Routers, Modems, and Gateways
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing security cameras, computer networks, and other equipment used in video surveillance systems.
  • Monitoring the operation of security equipment for malfunctions or other problems
  • Installing and maintaining security equipment such as alarms or access control systems

Requirements:

  • Have good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Physically fit and healthy.

Salary:
$ $30.00 per week

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Performance bonus
