Mō te Tūranga - About the role

We are a small, new team within Crown Law, seeking an experienced Advisor or Senior Advisor to support the development of system-wide tools, products and services.

With no two days being the same, this role will see you supporting initiatives, using your skills to understand customer and stakeholder needs, and designing and developing valuable tools for, and relationships with, the Government Legal Network.

You'll be working as part of a collaborative and system-focussed group, dedicated to designing and delivering initiatives that support efficiency of practice and effectiveness of government lawyers.

You'll be involved in, sometimes taking the lead on, the development of a wide range of system-based initiatives and products.

The work will initially be focused on capability frameworks, and approaches to improve and/or support resourcing across the legal system.

Future work could include developments enabling centralised learning, and tools for developing standardised, or more effective ways to ask for and deliver legal advice.


To be considered for this role, you will need the following:

  • Relevant expertise and skills in developing products, models or frameworks
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to bring energy into new and challenging work
  • The ability to collaborate, be approachable, have a passion for learning, and a cando attitude
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, project management and product development principles
  • Be ready to put your hand to anything, from the doing to the advising
  • The ability to put the customer first, as well as keeping the 'system' in mind
This is mid to senior level role with an appointing remuneration range of $104K - $120K.
