Oranga Tamariki is about to go live with its new Financial Management Information System (FMIS).
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Systems Business Partner.

Working in conjunction with relevant stakeholders, this role will embed the new FMIS support and lead the development and implementation of strategies and services to enhance the FMIS and related systems.

You will be joining the organisation at a time of incredible transformation and be key to seeing that realised.

The Funding and Performance team ensures Oranga Tamariki has a clear funding strategy, our business performance is understood, and our financial resources are efficiently utilised to achieve our strategic intentions.

The Financial Systems Business Partner is, responsible for the management, development, and operationalisation of FMIS and corporate finance systems within the organisation.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Strong technical understanding of FMIS systems. Ideally SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and Concur
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organisation and quickly gain the confidence of senior leaders
  • Experience leading and managing work in an environment experiencing extensive change
  • 3+ years' experience working in a large complex organisation in finance or related area
  • Experience with managing, operating, and improving financial accounting systems and working with a thirdparty provider to ensure the system is working to its optimum capacity.
  • Extensive experience within a continuous improvement environment and implementing best practice finance procedure
  • Awareness and understanding of the public sector in relation to financial procedures
  • Experience investigating issues, understanding the financial impacts and the implications for the business unit
  • Strong problemsolving skills with an ability to identify innovative yet practical solutions to complex problems across systems and business processes.


To succeed, you will be commercially and financially astute, a motivated self-starter who thrives in a challenging environment, with the ability to build strong and credible relationships across a wide audience.

You will bring proven experience in providing best practice advice and high-quality services and support in relation to FMIS, tools and technology.
