Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

The Manager Biosecurity Health, Safety Wellbeing will be responsible for the advice and support to the Biosecurity New Zealand leadership team on the delivery, development, maintenance and implementation of Health, Safety & Wellbeing policies procedures and projects for Biosecurity New Zealand (BNZ).

Supporting the Commissioner Central/South, you will provide systemic operational and technical leadership will form part of the Directorate Leadership team.

You will assist this leadership team in assurance of the sustainability of the business through regularly auditing and measuring the performance of Biosecurity New Zealand to ensure we are meeting our own standards and legislative obligations in a timely manner

The role will, in conjunction with the MPI Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, develop and own the Biosecurity New Zealand Health, Safety & Wellbeing Strategy and supporting frameworks that will contribute to the development and implementation of Health, Safety & Wellbeing iteratives across BNZ.

Mōu - About You

The Manager Biosecurity Health, Safety Wellbeing is a varied role, and you will have experience and a good working knowledge of the New Zealand regulatory requirements and administrative frames in dealing with regulators relating to managing health, safety & wellbeing.

You will have a proven capability in achieving health, safety and wellbeing performance improvement and experience leading cultural change within health, safety and wellbeing.

You will have sound people skills with the ability to establish and build on working relationships effectively and the demonstrated experience in managing issues and risk mitigation.

You will be recognised as a having highly effective communication skills both oral and written at all levels, to successfully achieve outcomes, including presenting information for a range of audiences.

You will also have proven skills in influencing and persuading and have a positive, results-targeted and professional approach.

The Manager Bioscurity Health, Safety and Wellbeing is apart of the central/south leadership team and will advise advice and guidance to the Central/South Commissioner as well as the other directorate leaders.
