Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury provides
a 24 hour a day 7 days a week health interpreting service for inpatient
requirements and outpatient appointments. During business hours, as the
Coordinator, you are responsible for the overall
management (coordinating) of the service, assisted by two part time
Booking Facilitators and a casual Facilitator. You will be located with the
Customer Services Team and provide the essential service of booking
interpreters to support patients and clinical staff, to fulfil human rights
requirements and ensure the best possible communication in clinical situations
across the Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury as required.
This role is a full-time permanent position. You
will be required to work between Monday and Friday hours at
Christchurch Hospital.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury Interpreter
Services with the day to day management

  • Receiving, registering, prioritising and coordinating requests
  • Processing weekly payments. Facilitating
and ensuring the invoicing requirements of Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury
are met to ensure contracted interpreters are reimbursed in a timely
manner

  • Coordinating workforce requirements
  • Preparing trend reports and analysis
  • Managing interpreter resourcesKo wai koe | About You
This Coordinator role would suit someone who enjoys
working in a diverse team and is able to coordinate the team appropriately. To
be successful in this role, you would should be able to build good
relationships with others, take initiative and be proactive. Ideally you should
have some administration experience, however this is also a great opportunity
to start your admin career within the Health Industry.

  • Experience working within public service or within the health
sector, from a service perspective

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
  • Ability to work effectively, efficiently and calmly in a busy
workplace and under pressure

  • Selfmotivated and an ability to contribute to and accommodate
change

  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confidence and awareness when working with people of different
cultures
