Our Opportunity:


Joining a team of Engineers you will play a significant role in providing technical expertise and ensuring generation asset integrity.

This unique role, you will work across all our generation sites including geothermal, hydro and wind which provides numerous development opportunities for you to learn, which we support through our training budget.

You'll be given ownership of your workload and the freedom to get on with the job, but also the support of a team who are highly motivated and technically competent group of people with a vast range and wealth of experience that they enjoy sharing.

This role has the flexibility to be based in Hamilton or Rotorua.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide control systems engineering expertise to the Mercury's power plants, ensuring their operability, integrity and compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Manage the provision of engineering services to the Mercury's power plants from external sources as required
  • Provide positive and constructive contribution to the design and development of Mercury's assets overall strategic direction and business planning processes

We are looking for:

  • Highly motivated and technically competent engineer
  • Engineering NZ registration (or a desire to attain registration) preferred
  • Industrial engineering experience
  • Understanding of power generation plant and the unique requirements for control systems and equipment installed
