You will provide assistance with personal activities such as community participation, socialising, and daily living tasks.

We have a
part-time opportunity available in
central Lower Hutt. In this role, you will be supporting three ladies to live as independently as possible within their own home.

They have strong ties with the community, enjoy swimming, gym, craft, baking, and out for walks up Te Whiti Riser and to town.

We provide a non-hospital-level care but offers supportive assistance for this service.

We offer variety of shifts
:
morning, afternoon, evening and sleepovers. We are looking for someone with flexible availability and an understanding of mental health challenges.

A driver's licence is essential, as this role involves supporting people to access the community and participate in local activities.


Skills & Experience

  • Empathy and willingness to support people with their personal daily living tasks, their goals, dreams and aspirations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with your colleagues and the people you support
  • Sharing your own unique life experience
  • A background in caring for people with mental health disabilities
  • Desire to learn on the job and study towards qualifications
  • Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence (essential)
  • Ability to use the internet and outlook
