We are looking for an efficient, positive, and self-motivated administrator with a high standard of communication and organisational skills to join our team in the Integrated Operations Centre.


You will be part of a positive and productive team that is made up of senior nurses and managers who help provide seven day a week operational oversight of Palmerston North Hospital.

Your role will be to support this team primarily with the online booking and co-ordination of ambulances and interhospital transfers.

You will also be required at times to cross cover other administrative roles within the IOC to ensure a consistent cover for the service.

You should have excellent knowledge and use of digital systems and accurate data entry.

To be successful in the role, you will need to possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral demonstrating the ability to communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external departments.
  • Proven administrative skills, and an ability to organise one's own work without supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise and respond appropriately in an autonomous manner.
  • Demonstrated appreciation of effective teamwork and commitment to a team approach.
  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to summarise information accurately.
  • Ability to plan and think ahead.
  • Administration, numeracy, computer skills and wordprocessing skills, particularly Microsoft Office and able to work with databases, including specialised programmes such as Trend Care and Microster.
  • Excellent command of English, including grammar and spelling.
This position is permanent full-time but would also suit 2 people who wish to job share.
