We have an opportunity for a

Traffic Manager to join the Higgins Team.

  • You will be working on an exciting new project
  • RiverLink which is a transformative project about to get underway in Hutt City. We're very excited to announce that alongside AECOM, Fletcher Construction will be joining project partners Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, Hutt City Council, Greater Wellington, and iwi Taranaki Whānui ki te Upoko o te Ika and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this project._
  • RiverLink includes crucial flood protection and river restoration work, improvements to public transport, walking and cycling routes, local roads and the SH2 Melling Interchange, as well as urban revitalisation of the Lower Hutt city centre. Construction is expected to start later this year and be completed in 2027._
As our

Traffic Manager you will lead the planning, resourcing and effective delivery of the traffic management workload for the project while leading a team of Traffic Management Planners, Operatives and STMS staff both internal and external. Further, you will be across the effective implementation of Traffic Management Plans and the effective implementation of them.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Ideally but not essential
  • STMS Level 2/3 NP or CAT ABC NP
  • You will a solid background in Traffic Management on roading projects within New Zealand, including knowledge of NZTA's processes and procedures
  • Experience managing Traffic Management Budgets within a Project
  • Excellent people skills you will enjoy leading a team or be ready to the next step up in your career
  • Be a competent communicator at all levels
  • Strong project planning experience
  • A high level of knowledge and commitment to operational health and safety best practice
  • You will be computer savvy and experienced in the Microsoft Office Suite
