The Cloud Operations team are seeking Engineers to work in cross functional teams including:

  • Infrastructure
  • Networks, High Frequency and SATCOM, Facilities and Gateways, Identity Access Management and Public Key Infrastructure team.


 Platforms
  • Database and ERP Platforms, Cloud Infrastructure, Core Compute, Geospatial, Hosting and Integration & Middleware.


 In House Application
  • Enterprise Applications, Virtual Applications and Desktops & End User Devices.


As one of the Engineers for the Cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for providing second tier support for incidents, requests, problems and changes.

Powershell skills along with LINX experience will be useful.

A good understanding in Azure Active Directory and the ability to stand up and maintain virtual machines is also advantageous.

You will be involved in the development of new products and product enhancements as part of a DevOps team, which means you will work from time to time with other DevOps teams to ensure that mutually beneficial goals are achieved across products, and across Defence Digital.

As part of the cloud operations team you will need to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, a can-do attitude, strong technical aptitude and a keen interest and motivation to learn new technologies and practices.

Ideally you will have knowledge of, exposure to or a desire to learn the following:

  • Microsoft products (SharePoint, Windows Server, SQL Server);
  • Azure Platform and Azure Stack;
  • Indepth knowledge of infrastructure as code (IAC);
  • Scripting languages (Azure Bicep, PowerShell DSC, Ansible, Templates, Java Script);
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub etc;
  • Experience with virtual server technologies such as Hyper VM;
  • Experience in CI/CD;
  • Experience working with Active Directory;
  • IP Networking;
  • Server Monitoring and Management Tools;
  • Identity and access management technologies and platforms;
  • Enterprise PKI;
  • Linux;
  • Software development experience using Source Control e.g Git; and
  • Knowledge of NZISM and ITIL.

We're also looking for someone with:

  • Azure Fundamentals and other relevant Microsoft certifications (advantageous);
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (preferable);
  • An IT related degree or certification;
  • Experience with IT Security (advantageous); and
  • Experience with Agile workspace.
