The opportunity


As part of the Parks & Community Facilities Department, you'll be joining our high-performing Landscape Architecture team, and providing specialist landscape architectural design and advice on a range of open space projects.

Day to day, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the Landscape Team in the design and planning of major open space capital works projects across Auckland
  • Provide design and draughting support on a range of open space and urban design projects across the city
  • Research specific product requirements to be applied in designs
  • Support the development and maintenance of all asset standard drawings and design specifications
  • Support and/or deliver all phases of open space design from spatial analysis and consultation through to construction supervision of capital works on a local to regional scale

About you


With a passion for open space projects, you'll be able to demonstrate a high level of graphic competency and a flair for creative design.

You'll be an expert in a range of graphics programmes (any experience with ArchiCAD would be advantageous).

You'll have the internal motivation to learn, push yourself, and help drive success.

Additionally, you will have at least one years' experience as a practising landscape architect along with a well-developed portfolio illustrating experience in the planning and design of open spaces.


You will also have a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or urban design and ideally, you'll hold a full or restricted driver's license.
