Defence Digital Group's (DDG) purpose is to link our Force to the people, the information and the technology whilst they undertake their duties safeguarding Aotearoa New Zealand.

Recently, Service Management within Defence Digital underwent a transformative change, now dedicated solely to connecting IT to our frontline forces.

As our Change and Release Analyst you will be responsible for the analysis and evaluation of the impact of changes and releases.


This will include:

  • Supporting the Service Transition Manager to ensure the Change and Release function and the underlying processes, procedures and tools are uptodate and fitforpurpose.
  • Taking responsibility for training and educating stakeholders in the use of Change, Release and transition tools, best practice and underlying processes.
  • Receiving Change and Release requests and completing analysis to identify the risks and potential impacts of the proposed activities.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
This role is based in Petone, Wellington where your team and the greater DDG are based.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

We are keen to hear from you if you are an experienced Change and Release practitioner with exposure to ICT projects and an understanding of ITIL, SAFE Agile and DevOps best practice as it applies to the Change and Release management processes.

You will need to be an agile learner with strong relationship management skills, keen to understand and adapt to organisational culture.

You will be able to positively influence stakeholders and provide good advice so that you can become a trusted partner.

Ideally, you will also have a sound understanding of Change and Release management methodologies, experience working as part of an ICT team, and an understanding of relevant change and release management systems.

Please note that you must be able and willing to travel within New Zealand and overseas if required.

Higher level Security Clearance
- most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
