Release Engineer

As a Release Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and creating release packages, testing, and deploying them for a high availability wealth management production system. You will work as part of our global Production Support and Infrastructure team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our high availability wealth management production system.
Your primary focus will be on designing and creating release packages, conducting thorough testing, and deploying them efficiently. You'll also manage releases into various development and test environments utilized by our internal and client test teams. As a Release Engineer, you'll take charge of software releases to our production platforms, which currently manage an impressive c400BN of assets under management. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring accurate and consistent deployments within scheduled timeframes.
This is an exciting and critical role, working within a collaborative team where you'll contribute to the success of our cutting-edge wealth management platform while honing your expertise in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
The responsibilities will include:
- Ensure successful and timely deployment of software releases into various environments.- Coordinate, schedule, and execute software build processes with attention to detail.- Develop automation scripts and tools for seamless software integration and deployment.- Collaborate with internal systems for efficient deployment methodology.- Create and maintain procedures to gather essential data and statistics for code improvement.- Automate and enhance all aspects of the code analysis, build process, and report generation.- On call when required based on a rota system.- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology-related field.- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a related field, such as software deployment, systems engineering, technical support, technical project management, business or systems analyst, software quality assurance, configuration management, or similar role.- Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.- Familiarity with source control systems and software build systems in the context of MS.NET and MS SQL technologies.- Demonstrable problem-solving skills.- Be a team player with solid interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team, as well as being a self-starter with strong organizational abilities to work independently as required.
Ideal technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle- Familiarity with source control tools such as AccuRev, SubVersion, or GIT.- Experience with build and deploy tools like Nant and Maven.- Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) tools like TeamCity or Hudson.- Familiarity with MS Windows IIS and Windows Server 2019.- Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) like MS Visual Studio or Eclipse.
