About the Organisation:


The New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) is looking for a motivated and competent Level Two Desktop Technician with the necessary 'tight-lipped' skills to get amongst enhancing Aotearoa's national security.


You will work for a national organisation with diverse, talented, and committed individuals who are anything but ordinary - creating a better and safer environment for all New Zealanders.

This role sits within the Tech Directorate who are responsible for ensuring high quality technology outcomes for the community.

About You:

You will need to be a bit 'hack' with a wish to be a 'Formula 1 mechanic'. In this job you might start out as the former, but you'll end up moving towards the latter.

You will:

  • Be a switchedon, knowledgeable and motivated person with a strong IT bent. You perhaps WANT to go on some of these Certification courses, just to prove what you already know
  • Have a headstart if you have any of the following certifications: COMPTIA A+, COMPTIA Network +, ITIL, IT related Diploma to Level
  • Find out that they work on all the types of gear expected
  • Thick clients, Thin clients, Printers, VTC's, Phones, TV and AV equipment as would be expected but you may just find that they're not always implemented in the ways you've come to expect
  • Enjoy a sometimes fastpaced environment where the odd day can be nothing of what you expected, and yet ultimately fulfilling
  • Be solutionfocused with excellent Interpersonal customerfocused skills
  • On occasion have the responsibility of leading your own Mini IT Projects, and therefore have the pride that goes with the quality of product that you have guided in to place
  • Understand that the key is a good sense of humour, a willingness to go with the flow and a hankering to handle the odd curve ball from left field
