Oranga Tamariki has a dynamic and ambitious transformation programme, geared to enable the successful delivery of outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and our communities.

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Strategic Communications and Engagement Partner to join our team.

We're seeking a seasoned communications professional to work closely with the Transformation Programme team to lead the engagement for the Transformation Programme across Oranga Tamariki in conjunction with the Communications Leadership team.

In this role you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and the delivery of all communications material cohesively whilst actively maintaining relationships across Oranga Tamariki and with other key partners and stakeholders.

You will be a change champion that leads the engagement and responses on specific papers, proposals and business cases as needed.

You will be an exceptional communicator and storyteller who can captivate and influence your audience to go the change journey with us.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Extensive experience in strategic communications, engagement planning, and delivery
  • Proven ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience with a range of communications and engagement tools, techniques and channels
  • Sound risk assessment, and risk mitigation skills
  • Welldeveloped sector networks, with an expert ability to prioritise engagement which meets the needs of each audience
  • Sensitivity towards diverse communities and cultures
  • Understanding and appreciation of crosscultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
