Mō te tūnga - About the role:

Working with Hon Dr Duncan Webb MP to develop and deliver a social media strategy you'll ensure everything runs effectively and efficiently including planning, scheduling, creating and editing content, to monitoring activity.

Based in the Christchurch Central electorate office for around 20 hours per week, you'll be helping to increase the reach of this MP's messages and working to support the very machinery of Aotearoa New Zealand's democracy.


Tō kete - What you will bring to the role:

This position needs someone who is solutions orientated, respectful, accountable and confident in building strong relationships as you'll be engaging with a wide array of stakeholders.

You will need to be willing to learn on the job, an able to work autonomously. It would be great if you come with a communications background, but this isn't essential.

Ngā haepapa - Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the communications plan with a particular focus on social media
  • Support and administer media (including social media) content for the Member
  • Create and edit content suitable for social media
  • Actively monitor communication channels, including the Member's social media for issues of interest/concern
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as required to ensure the smooth operation of the Member's role
