The Woods Geospatial Services team is responsible for delivering on the complex geospatial needs of clients from sectors as diverse as transport, water, energy, telecommunications, land development, residential design and heritage. We aspire to be New Zealand's leading high precision geospatial experts.

We utilise some of the most advanced data acquisition technologies, including LiDAR laser scanning (across handheld, mobile, terrestrial and aerial platforms), photogrammetry, and ground penetrating radar (GPR), to develop high-precision survey-grade 3D geospatial models.

We specialise in extracting and delivering unique insights via our growing machine learning, data analytics and GIS toolsets. We are constantly looking to evolve our capabilities to answer the most demanding problems.

The role

We currently have an opening for a senior qualified and experienced Senior Survey Specialist to join us. The ideal candidate will be an established leader across survey, project management, business development and people leadership domains.

Your skills and experience

The ideal candidate for this role will bring the following skills and experience:

  • 10+ years surveying experience with a deep understanding of survey techniques.
  • Experience with LiDAR laser scanning (across one or more of handheld, mobile, terrestrial and aerial platforms).
  • Experience with LiDAR and/or photogrammetry analysis, processing and production.
  • Project management experience leading major geospatial projects (from site capture through to processing and final deliverables).
  • An interest and passion for client engagement and business development.
  • Experience in 3D modelling and BIM advantageous.
  • Other skills and experience across the geospatial domain would be helpful e.g., UAV, video gaming engines, GIS, software development, AI/ML.
