Ideally, you will have a background in media, communications or PR with a strong focus on social media.

Experience is important, as is the ability to coach and mentor others. But we are equally interested in your style, your vision and ability to tell a story in a way that helps grow trust and confidence in council's plans, projects and initiatives and meets the key goals of our communications strategy:

• Increasing recognition of the good things' council does, that are not well understood by Aucklanders

• Growing pride in Auckland, connected to the things we do.

You will have the ability to build engagement with our digital channels, know how to measure success and use the results to drive growth in future. It goes without saying that you are a great team player with proven initiative, drive, resilience and the ability to work to tight deadlines while deftly balancing competing priorities. Finally, you will work towards becoming a trusted advisor to elected members and business partners, so political acumen and sound judgement are vital.

This is a fast-paced and exciting role. Deadlines, pressure and competing priorities all come with the job. Experience working in a large and diverse team is highly desirable.

Experience Level 5-7 years

These are roles with a level of diversity and complexity you won't find very often, with the chance to engage with and support key decision-makers on a daily basis. Normal office hours apply and flexible working is supported. Our salaries are competitive and there are plenty of opportunities for personal growth.
