Our Cottonsoft family is growing; we currently have over 200 employees throughout New Zealand and three manufacturing sites - two in the North Island in Auckland (Highbrook and Wiri), and one in the South Island in Dunedin.

To continue our success, we have a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday opportunity for a Process Improvement Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Highbrook site.

The Opportunity

As the Process Improvement Engineer you are a valued contributor who will help us reach our operational goals by driving standardisation, improvements and efficiencies within our tissue converting site at Highbrook. You will contribute by:

  • Supporting our Site Manager to direct and coordinate the operations of the manufacturing team to achieve planned goals and objectives
  • Reporting on machine and shift performance, identifying opportunities to improve output, cost, waste, quality and safety
  • Supporting Team Leaders with technical training and troubleshooting, as well as optimising and improving staff utilisation
  • Building and maintaining standardised machine settings and standard cleaning practices and schedules
  • Maintaining, updating and training on SOP's

About You

  • Strong focus and awareness of workplace health and safety
  • Experience within a tissue converting operational environment
  • Competence in the Microsoft Office Suite and Mex
  • Have the ability to work autonomously, whilst being a great teammate and working towards achieving team goals
  • Literacy and numerical skills
  • Uses common sense and basic logic to solves challenges and provide effective solutions
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to build trusted working relationships
  • A strong sense of accountability and ownership of role
  • Time management and prioritisation skills with ability to deliver on objectives
