Ko te kaupapa | About the role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to work in our Occupational Therapy team, this role is predominantly a rotational inpatient role rotating through the main hospital wards including Medical, Surgical, ATR (stroke/rehab), Emergency Department and Community with input into Paediatrics and Critical Care as required. This role is ideal for a new graduate Occupational Therapist, or an experienced Occupational Therapist with an interest in inpatient services. If you are a new graduate then we may be able to offer an Allied Health Assistant position in the interim whilst you await registration, please indicate your interest in this on your application.

We have a great team of Occupational Therapists with a wide variety of experience and skills. This job requires working closely with the other Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Therapy Assistants, as well as being a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management, adaptability and communication skills are essential for this role.

  • You must be a qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Have experience or demonstrate potential for working in a hospital/DHB setting
  • Hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Physically fit and able to lift (as per patient handling guidelines)
  • Motivated to maintain high level of knowledge and skill
  • Hold a New Zealand Drivers License
  • Opportunity to further strengthen your clinical skills
  • You will be working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing excellent services to patients and whānau
