We currently have a
casual hours as required, (providing annual leave cover) vacancy for an active and enthusiastic individual who loves to be part of the action, to join our Community Centres and Halls Team as a Venue Attendant and general all-rounder across the business unit.


In this role, you will assist in the operation and staffing of our venues, primarily covering the Bookings administration role and supporting our 8 Halls.

You may also be asked to assist at the Arataki Community Centre, Papamoa Community Centre, and Papamoa Sport and Recreation Centre.

Your responsibilities will include providing cover for the bookings and admin role during annual leave or sick leave, performing general site maintenance, setting up and packing down equipment for various activities and events, assisting with event organization, managing reception duties, restocking facility supplies, handling customer service tasks, undertaking minor projects related to the sites, and cleaning the venues and equipment as needed.


To be successful you must:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a high attention to detail;
  • Be a committed team player, who is able to act in a proactive manner;
  • Be physically fit as some heavy lifting is required;
  • Have the ability to retain professional demeanor and think clearly when under pressure;
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation; Experience in recreation or working in or with community groups would be advantageous but is not necessary.


We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with excellent phone manners, customer service skills, and strong computer proficiency to assist with a variety of tasks in our Centres and Halls.

The primary responsibility is to provide cover for annual leave and sick leave, focusing on the Bookings and Administration role, while also assisting with other parts of the business unit as needed.

Occasional weekend or evening shifts may be required, so flexibility is essential to meet business demands.
