BEDC.AI (Building Engineering & Design Co) is a forward thinking entrepreneurial software company. We provide best in class applications and AI software to retailers and manufacturers of materials used for constructing residential buildings. In 5 years we have very quickly grown, winning several well known, large customers across the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and The Philippines.

We are currently seeking a forward thinking senior full stack developer. This role will lean more towards front-end development. We'd love for you to apply if you like hands-on coding of features, working within a small but efficient team, and flat structure. We're seeking someone pretty senior. Perhaps you're already a lead level developer.

"We'd like you to execute development work on our market-leading Rome application. Rome is a cloud based software that customers license. It helps manufacturers and retailers of materials for building projects manage their architectural jobs for quantity surveying, quotes & bids, materials cataloguing, pricing, scheduling for production, reporting, and collaboration (document sharing, chat) with teams. This industry calls us the "Salesforce" or "Xero" of their sector " - Ben Powles CEO.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of full stack application development - with a strong preference for in depth skills on React, NodeJS, and AWS.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or team lead role.
  • You clearly enjoy frontend development and are ready to spend more time there, despite also having proven backend skills which will be leveraged.
  • You think about how the user will interact with features and care about wonderful UX.
  • You can develop scalable, well structured, and maintainable cloud applications that incorporate both continuous delivery and a serverless architecture.
  • You take pride in structuring your code cohesively, and following good principles to testing and deploying.
  • You've collaborated with a Lead Product Management to discuss front & backend approach, feature requirements, wireframes, and breakdown of tasks to into timelines and backlogs.
  • You worked in a team running Agile, with weekly or fortnightly sprints, typically collaborating with other engineers, QA, UI/UX, etc.

Ideal candidates will also have the following:

  • B.E. in Software Engineering, B.S/M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Comfortable with Git or similar, including standard development lifecycle (feature branching, pull requests, CI/CD)
  • You work with project management software like JIRA.
  • You have worked with 3rd party partners for integration and use of their APIs.
  • You enjoy being self sufficient to make choices, decisions, and influencing the approach - but once done, you thrive in just "getting it done".
  • Clear experience on B2B software, not websites or B2C mobile apps.
