L a unched in March 2024, Vello is a software solution that seamlessly connects veterinary practices and their clients (pet parent s) through modern, digital tools. As the only pet owner engagement solution purpose-built for IDEXX practice management software, Vello enables veterinary practices using ezyVet, Neo, and Cornerstone software to communicate efficiently with pet owners in a single, easy-to-use system. With software-supported engagement across the life stages of a pet, pet owners become informed partners in care—supporting better health outcomes.

With a robust multi year roadmap IDEXX has invested heavily to grow Vello 's team here in our Auckland R&D center of excellence. W e're seeking a skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer , primarily focused on delivering high quality solutions to overcome complex challenges for the Vello application and help push the boundaries of what is achievable in this space.

At launch Vello key features include:

  • Automated appointment reminders and confirmations that reduce no-shows and save valuable time for teams.
  • Health service reminders that inform pet owners of upcoming or past-due services, such as vaccinations or annual wellness visits.
  • Online scheduling that enables pet owners to conveniently request appointments directly from health service reminders or through the Vello software.
  • Pet owner mobile experience that eliminates the need for an application download, providing full digital access to pet health records, appointment information, prescription history, test results, and more, all from a mobile web browser.
  • Two-way texting that enables immediate connection with pet owners, automatically updating the patient record and communication log without character count limitations or extra fees.
  • Pre-appointment instructions that drive both visit and diagnostic compliance, including fecal or urine sample reminders, drop-off and pickup times, and recommended blood work.

Wh ere you'll play

  • Create technical design documentation
  • Build large scale or complex projects that are fit for purpose and achieve the desired result
  • Build code that is beautifully crafted, highly scalable, and maintainable
  • Monitor, evaluate and improve projects as they are released (agile)
  • Write perfectly crafted unit tests
  • Provide senior code reviews for code to ensure code that is released is robust and does not break other areas of Vello
  • Refactor the low-level framework objects to improve the performance and scalability of the Vello platform
  • Contribute to high level tech stack related discussions and aid in driving our application forward
  • Be a role model that junior and intermediate engineers can look up to for guidance

What you'll need :

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
  • Proven technical capability with software design
  • Experience leading technical advancements to solve problems
  • Experience with principles and practices related to cloud technologies
  • Previous experience in SaaS environment
  • Experience is valuable with the following technologies: Node JS, React, Typescript , SQL , AWS .
  • Working knowledge of T est D riven D evelopment . Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum.
