Job Scope:

The key purpose of the jobholder is to manage the design creation and project delivery for our clients in a manner that ensures our clients' expectations are met through a high standard of design and customer service delivery. In conjunction with the director, the jobholder is responsible for overseeing the accurate implementation of design concepts and drawings, to ensure they are delivered to the highest possible standard, within set budgets and programmes. Including managing design resource and programming to meet programme milestones.

The role is also responsible for leading all aspects of design creation to drive and inspire creativity, and leading-edge design within the corporate market; to coach and guide the members of the design and production team to efficiently and effectively manage all aspects of their projects thereby ensuring they deliver a high standard of design and implementation.

The Role – Opportunity

  • To lead the creative outputs for STACK to achieve award winning projects.
  • Thought leadership, lead creative thinking, process and outcomes within STACK working with the design team to grow, challenge designer to achieve great outcomes for our clients.
  • Participate in industry design community and preparation of thought leadership pieces, and or with the directors and marketing team for client and industry.
  • Support business development in pitches and presentations with the directors.
  • Lead development of design pitches and strategy presentations for new business.
  • Support the directors in marketing and growing the business.

Key Responsibility Areas

Clients / Business Development

  • Prepare and deliver client presentation and pitches with the marketing team.
  • Work with the Directors in new business, growth.
  • Develop relationships with clients, landlords and agents as part of the growth of the business.
  • Building new client relationships and fostering existing relationships.
  • Support the directors in marketing and growing the business.

Projects

  • Provide creative oversight and direction for all STACK projects.
  • Lead and grow designers to develop creative thinking processes, outputs, and rigor in design.
  • Provide quality assurance across all Stack projects for design quality.
  • Work with designers and the project management team for alignment of design outcomes to project parameters and budgets (cost, time for implementation...)

People

  • Develop creative thinking and rigor.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the design team.
  • Be a people leader to inspire and motive the team to perform and create great outcomes.

H&S

  • H&S and design, lead the team in the space of safety and design.
  • Participate in STACK H&S team.

Self-Development

  • Industry engagement and participation
  • Thought leadership.
  • Keep abreast of current thinking and trends in workplace design.
  • Leadership in workplace design and thinking.

Person Specification

  • Respected leader in the design field of workplace design and commercial interiors.
  • A leader and champion of design, design process and creative problem solving. With a proven track record in delivering award winning projects.
  • Experienced leader of commercial projects and understanding of their working mechanisms to achieve client outcomes and respond to commercial influences to tailor design outcomes that can achieve award winning projects.
  • Ability to develop and foster client relationships.
  • Good commercial understanding of project influences to inform and tailor design responses.
  • Leader and mentor of people, develop and grow staff in design thinking and process to develop designers.
