As the Internal Communications Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and creating content for our internal communications channels, including our intranet and in person gatherings.

You will work closely with our HR Manager and the General Manager - People and Transformation to develop and implement a communications strategy that helps our people feel more connected, informed and be a Culture & Values Ambassador, bringing to life stories through words, videos and story sharing.

As part of the wider HR team you will also have the opportunity to work on people related projects, particularly by transforming content to connect with our people.


The successful person for this role will thrive in a busy environment, enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and have the ability to identify bespoke solutions that meet the needs of a varied and diverse organisation.


  • Have strong communications experience in a varied organisations or a variety of organisations.
- be an excellent writer who can produce content for a range of channels, and experience identifying the right channel for the message.
- the ability to build strong relationships within the team and across Council based on trust, credibility and the delivery of quality work and excellent customer service.
- an inclusive and approachable working style.
- willingness to support and participate in Emergency Management for the wider Council when required.


Prior experience in either a local or central government environment would be advantageous, as would a qualification in Communications or a related discipline.
