Secondly, you will use your growing understanding of the courts and the judiciary to support our Judicial Events Manager to plan and implement an annual programme of ceremonial and judicial events - events that are governed by long-standing precedent and protocols that reflect Aotearoa New Zealand's bi-cultural heritage.

This part of the role will include travel to some events, where necessary.

  • Promoting the tours to schools, and administering the bookings, etc, for each tour.

  • Be knowledgeable and curious about this unique working environment
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Plan meticulously, and manage your time effectively as you work towards immovable deadlines.

We can offer you:

  • A fastpaced and interesting working environment
  • A collaborative and supportive team culture we look after each other.
  • A competitive salary and a focus on your professional development

Mō mātou/About us**The Office of the Chief Justice (Te Tari) | Te Tari Toko i te Tumu Whakawā, supports the judiciary at the constitutional interface between the judiciary and executive. Te Tari is financially supported by the Ministry of Justice but remains otherwise independent.

The judiciary as an institution, and the Chief Justice and Heads of Bench as its leaders, have a unique responsibility to maintain the public's trust and confidence in the courts and the principles underpinning the justice system.

The Communications and Engagement Team (which includes our events team) supports the judiciary to fulfil this responsibility by increasing the transparency and accessibility of the work of the courts, and improving public and media's understanding of the constitutional role of the judiciary and the principles that underpin our justice system.

The judicial events calendar is an essential strand to this work.
