About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Principal Advisor to join the Enterprise Services group on a permanent basis.
You will report directly to the Deputy Chief Executive, Enterprise Services and will be hold two core responsibilities. The first is to lead all activities related to business continuity across the Enterprise Services functions. The second core responsibility is to prepare and deliver an organisational sustainability strategy. Both aspects will require working closely with other business units across the organisation.

You will be an experienced Principal Advisor who has a strong track record of providing high-quality strategic advice which has delivered better business outcomes.

You will have excellent relationship management skills and advanced written and verbal communication skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders.

You will have numerical and analytical skills, including experience interpreting complex data and generating insight.

This role requires someone who is passionate about sustainability, enjoys working in a fast-paced, diverse environment and have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Develop and maintain a business continuity plan (BCP)
  • Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets
  • Develop, review, and analyse research and data to develop a sustainability strategy for the Commission.
  • Collaborate with organisational managers to implement processes and technologies that reduce the Commission's environmental footprint.
  • Develop environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide analysis and reporting on business continuity activities to the DCE Enterprise Services, and others where relevant, to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Develop an understanding, and recognise and act upon, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū

  • Degree in Business, Finance, or similar field preferred.
  • Excellent strategic, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of risk management or similar experience.
  • Minimum 2 years sustainability related experience.
  • Ability to think through hypothetical situations and concepts and to identify risks and weaknesses in various business processes.
