This role requires the applicant to lead, support and co-ordinate proactive and efficient operations of this service for the Rural Hospitals & Nursing services division.

The manager is key to ensuring consistency of administration services across the Thames and Rural service and to work in collaboration with Waikato and Southern Rural Health services to achieve consistent administration results for the directorate.

Key to this position is understanding the role strong administration performance has on funding and to provide a positive patient experience within our clinical services.

This role includes collaborating and working in partnership with key clinical professional teams to ensure systems and processes support all staff, patients and our communities.

Thames & Rural Services is part of the wider Rural Hospital & Nursing Services team. The role is substantively based in Thames and includes management of administration staff and working with a range of health service teams across Rural Hospital & Nursing Services as well as across the Waikato district including hospital and community settings

Mōu | About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

years experience in operational and leadership roles in a complex health related

environment (or equivalent)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills, ideally with management experience
covering multiple service areas (including clinical)

  • Robust skills in human resources, financial management, service quality risk
and operational management

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity
to negotiate, resolve conflict and positively influence and motivate others

  • Agility and experience in leading change management
  • Expertise in building relationships, especially with senior health professionals
  • A current New Zealand driver's licence is required
