The Role
As a Specialist Property Assessor, you'll be responsible for assessing and adjusting claims for property loss or damage.

This will involve quantifying loss, initiating repairs and replacement, and working with customers on negotiating settlements for referred claims whilst providing an exceptional level of customer care.


Due to recent weather events, our team have high volumes of properties to assess out in the field, so this desk top role will increase our capacity to assist helping our customers who have suffered damage on a fixed term basis.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Loss Adjusting and Assessments
  • Manage all aspects of referred claims, including determining policy coverage, assessing, and adjusting all damages, completing repair specifications, arranging agreed repairers, managing repair process and financial information, and keeping all parties informed of progress.
  • Settle claims within delegations, and for claims outside of delegations, make recommendations for resolution.
  • Customer Service and Teamwork
  • Proactively contribute to improve the image and outcomes of the company within the marketplace to the external customer, keeping them fully informed on claims processes and settlement.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service.
  • Reporting
  • Quality Assurance

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to accurately quantify replacement, repair or reinstatement costs and negotiate indemnity settlements.
  • Technical skills relevant to Property Assessing
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package
  • Experience of loss adjusting and/or 5 years' experience within a Claims team
  • ANZIIF, Loss Adjusting or Trade qualifications highly regarded.
