All about the job
You'll lead a team who are passionate about sports and creating great outdoor playing surfaces.

As a specialist in sports field turf management, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills and expertise in maintaining top-notch playing surfaces.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and daily supervision of the of the Sports field team
  • Assisting the Turf Manager with performance reviews and objective setting for the team
  • Delivering the regular programme for maintenance and care for sports field turf, including fertilising, and irrigating, weed and pest control to ensure optimal playing conditions.
  • Ensure the team meet Service Level Agreements
  • Work with sports stakeholders to ensure requirements are met for game days, fixtures training and events

All about you


Ideally you'd already have or be working towards and Level 4 Turf Management qualification, and a passion for Porirua City sports.


You'll need to show us that you have:

  • experience leading and supervising a team
- a minimum of a level 3 qualification in Turf Management or similar field
- significant experience in sports turf management including and, solid and synthetic surface management.
- the ability to supervise staff to ensure programmed maintenance schedules are carried out
- excellent customer service and relationship management skills;
- an unrestricted class 2 drivers license
- the ability to meet the physical demands of the role
