Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership and wants to lead a multidisciplinary team. It provides day to day leadership and management of a busy team who work across the outpatient and community setting delivering care from Newlands to Pukerua Bay. This is a fixed term role for up to 12 months, covering parental leave.
This role is one of 12 allied health team leader roles based in the Older Adult, Rehabilitation and Allied Health service so there is a wealth of collegial support. The team you will lead are a variety of Allied Health, Nursing and Allied Health Assistants roles working together in a multidisciplinary way to meet the needs of the population.
This role is part time, and as you are managing people it will need to be extended across the week, however the structure of your working week is negotiable.
The role works alongside the Professional Leaders across the Allied Health and Nursing in many situations including workforce development and service improvements.
Whilst the role does not have a clinical component attached to it, at times the team leader may need to provide the team leadership around clinical service delivery and care so a current APC is essential.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
You will be part of the wider ORA Community Team of Allied health, Nursing and Medical colleagues. Collegial support with experienced clinicians is available and opportunities to collaborate is encouraged to improve patient outcomes. The team works with people 16 years and above with a range of physical disabilities, and age related or long term conditions to support their independence.
This role is one of 12 Allied Health Team Leader roles within the ORA (Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health) service, so there is a wealth of collegial support available to you.

You will be someone who is keen to grow your leadership potential through managing a high-performing team. You will also be passionate about the community setting of care and challenging the status quo to improve equity of outcomes for our clients. With the current Health Reforms and a move to district wide organisational groups, this will be an exciting time to be part of the team
You will be a qualified health professional in a relevant profession with a current APC. You will have demonstrated leadership skills and a passion to develop these further.
You - ll have a commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a desire to work positively to improve health outcomes for Māori.
