Te Tūranga - The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an Engineering Security Analyst.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following core functions:

  • Understand and take ownership of Product and Engineering security and compliance within Tait.
  • Ensure Security governance, policies, procedures, and standards are applied in Tait Engineering and Development to meet agreed security standards.
  • Liaise with central and regional information security teams and corporate compliance, audit, legal, and HR management as needed.
  • Ensure the Engineering and Development teams achieve and maintain ISO 27001 and future desired Security certifications.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve security breaches related to Tait products.
  • Collaborate closely with the CISO to create, implement, and maintain policies, standards, and procedures to comply with ISO 2700
  • Foster a culture of security awareness through campaigns and training.


The Engineering Security Analyst is expected to be fully aware of the company's security goals as established by its policies, procedures, and guidelines, and will actively work towards upholding those goals.

You will report to the Chief Information Security Officer.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Support development of Engineering & Products Security Strategy and Planning
  • Conduct Security evaluations of products and partners acquisition and deployment
  • Conduct and ensure Security compliance in product design, develop, deploy & Release Management
  • Lead planning and design of enterprise product security architecture and the organization's cybersecurity plan.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures)
  • Support Tait Engineering, development, computer technicians and end users when they need to install or learn about new security products and/or procedures.
  • Conduct Product specific security audits, including VA/Pentest periodically or as needed (e.g., when a security breach occurs).
  • Maintain uptodate, detailed knowledge of the Cyber security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent experience)

As well as:

  • Extensive experience in the field including experience in a lead cyber security role.
  • Extensive experience with legacy, mobile and cloud security solutions.
  • Working technical knowledge of intrusion protection, dual factor authentication, encryption, and other security solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols.
  • Understanding of Unix and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Experience with cloud security architectures and solutions.
  • Experience implementing ISO 27001 / NZISM or equivalent standards, documentation, and management systems.
  • Experience delivering training and/or presentations.
  • Preferred_:
  • One or more of the following_:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CISSP / CISA
  • Certified ethical hacking or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with secure development frameworks to include OWASP/SANS and frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST or PCI-DSS.
