Our team is busy but we all enjoy what we do We work hard, are accountable and collaborative when it comes to recruitment.

We work with a variety of managers to recruit unique roles for non-uniform (civilian) vacancies throughout the Wellington region.

We have a lot of pride in what we do, love a good laugh and really find satisfaction in delivering high quality recruitment support and advice.


A typical day could include:

  • Providing recruitment and selection support and assisting managers to achieve best outcomes.
  • Writing adverts and interview questions that are fit for purpose.
  • Ensuring that recruitment and selection of staff complies with policy.
  • Coaching and supporting managers on interview best practice requirements.
  • Participating in interview panels.
  • Advising on selection tools, processes and any assessments.
This role is based in Wellington CBD.

Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of working from home one-two days a week.

You will occasionally need to work from Trentham Military Camp.

HR Service Delivery (HRSD) is part of the Chief People Officer (CPO) portfolio of Headquarters New Zealand Defence Force (HQ NZDF).

The unit is focused on the delivery of high quality, timely, accurate operational HR management support and advisory services.

It is responsible for the development and implementation of local HR strategies and initiatives as well as advising NZDF commanders and managers, enabling them to lead their people effectively.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.

As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.

- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
