Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Registered Psychologist within an in-patient ward of Puawai; our Regional Forensic Psychiatric Service.

The position involves working with tāngata whaiora via a variety of psychometric assessments, psychological therapies and other interventions. You would also provide psychological consults and support to other team members.

Puna Awhi Rua is a 13 bedded forensic (sub-acute) medium secure unit and supports some of our most vulnerable and complex taangata whaiora.

The goals of this unit are to provide rehabilitation, habilitation, long term leave management processes and manage acute episodes.

Mōu | About you
You should have at least two years of clinical experience working with complex clients and in team settings and have:

Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

A post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (or recognised equivalent)

Registration with the NZ Psychology Board as a Registered Psychologist with a Clinical Scope of Practice

A current Practising Certificate

A full NZ Drivers License

An understanding of Tikanga Māori, Mātauranga Māori and the ability to engage appropriately in Māori settings
