We are looking for a Senior People and Performance Advisor to join the Higgins team covering the Manawatū-Whanganui region.

Reporting to the Senior People and Performance Business Partner for our Southern Region, you will be connecting with the business at a strategic and operational level across employee relations, talent management, people strategy and policy, organisational development, workforce planning, remuneration, systems and analytics, diversity and inclusion and wellbeing - there will be a great deal of variety in your role

  • This is a sole facing role for the Manawatū-Whanganui region where you will have a good balance of autonomy alongside support from your wider People & Performance community
  • The region's Health and Safety and Talent Acquisition business partner is based in branch for you to partner with

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum 6 years generalist experience
  • True generalist HR experience including supporting business cyclical tasks e.g. annual remuneration review, talent development, engagement surveys, with particular strengths in employee relations and building leadership capability
  • Passionate about coaching and developing staff/leaders this opportunity has a blend of strategic and operational responsibilities
  • Confident partnering with differing leadership levels and capability from senior leadership through to front line leaders you will work closely with the region manger, their SLT and our frontline leaders.
  • Experience working in a unionised environment with understanding of collective employment agreements and bargaining being advantageous
  • Experience in the civil construction industry or similar is an advantage but not essential
  • The ability to shift your focus rapidly, be agile and innovative
  • Have excellent attention to detail, time management and prioritisation
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong desire to continuously learn more about the business and industry to accentuate the value your role brings to the team
