Join our team as a Threat & Incident Response Analyst, where responding to cyber security incidents is at the forefront of what we do.

You will be part of a close-knit team, tasked with providing cyber security incident response, authoritative advice, and support to victims of malicious cyber activity in New Zealand.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the

Cyber Threat Environment:

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the cyber threat to New Zealand and develop expertise in the cyber security field.


  • You will be expected to share your knowledge with the team and wider organisation.
  • Incident Response Services: Contribute to the detection, analysis, and understanding of cyber incidents.
  • You will assist with the triaging of cyber incidents and manage the incident management system.
  • Stakeholder Management: Provide plain language technical answers to questions and assist New Zealanders in understanding the cyber security landscape.
  • You will communicate effectively with technical, legal, executive, and leadership teams within GCSB, and within external customer and partner agencies.
  • Execution of the NCSC

Strategic Plan:
Promote cross-team collaboration through the execution of the CERT and NCSC Strategic Plans.

  • Participate in both functional and crossfunctional NCSC teams at the request of the NCSC Executive and Leadership group.


A passion for IT, cyber security, digital forensics or incident management would be advantageous and would enable you to excel in a highly collaborative environment.
