We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursing Clinical Lecturer in a full time, permanent capacity to join UCOL Te Pūkenga.

As a Nursing Clinical Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical support to nursing ākonga and guiding them through their practical experiences in various healthcare settings.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical instruction to nursing ākonga, ensuring adherence to the curriculum and learning outcomes.
  • Guide and supervise ākonga during their clinical rotations in healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.
  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, demonstrating proper nursing techniques, procedures, and protocols.
  • Evaluate ākonga performance, provide constructive feedback, and assess their competency in clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with the nursing faculty to design and develop clinical learning activities and materials.
  • Stay updated with current nursing practices, emerging trends, and advancements in healthcare to incorporate into the curriculum.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting professionalism, ethical behaviour, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and program evaluation activities.
  • Mentor and advise nursing students, offering guidance on career development and academic progress.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions.

Qualifications and/or Skills

  • Post graduate qualification preferable
  • NZ Registered Nurse and current Practicing Certificate
  • Adult Teaching qualification or equivalent or be working towards same
  • Competent with Microsoft Office tools
