Functions of the Committee

The Committee is required to publicly call for expressions of interest and consult any person or group who may have an interest in being or nominating a member of the Commission.

This includes iwi and Māori representative organisations, and any person or group the Minister has identified as having an interest.

The Committee plays an important role in ensuring the Commission appointments are robust, independent, and fulfilling the skills requirements as per the CCRA.

The Committee's commitments are based on the expiring terms of the Commission's Board, and the members therefore meet on an ad hoc basis.

Fees
Committee members are paid a daily rate of $395 in accordance with the Cabinet Fees Framework.
How to apply

Expressions of interest are required to be with the Ministry for the Environment no later than 12pm on 22 March 2024.
