You will be leading a team of four Carpenters and two Plumbers managing maintenance throughout Waikato hospital, Matariki and Rhoda Read campuses.

You and your team will together with all of the Property & Infrastructure group deliver engineering services to all of Health New Zealand, Waikato District.

As part of the Property & Infrastructure team you will assist in delivering engineering services to Health New Zealand Waikato District to ensure critical and essential services are maintained at all times.

Mōu | About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:

Mandatory:

  • Relevant Trade Certificate / Diploma
  • Experience in managing, monitoring and repair of plumbing and carpentry infrastructure preferably associated with large health care facilities
  • Current NZ Drivers Licence (Full)

Desirable:

  • Advanced Trade Certificate
  • Relevant Tertiary level Technical or Business qualification.
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Work at Height
  • Permit to Work
  • CIMS Level 4

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience managing trades and contractor staff and the ability to deal with the many and varied issues that arise in that context.
  • Intermediate level of understanding in regards to the Health and Safety Act (2015)
  • Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with all the trades utilised in a hospital environment
  • Understanding of the systems that underpin effective and prompt maintenance, fixing and enhancement of equipment, buildings and infrastructure in a demanding operational environment
  • Familiarity with Building Maintenance Systems
  • Project Management experience conception to delivery
