About the role

We're currently accepting expressions of interest for a strategic thinker and technical team leader who can create long term relationships with new and existing clients and lead the growth of HG's Land Development team in Wellington.

The principal purpose of the role is to provide technical leadership and help raise the profile of Harrison Grierson's urban and land development offering in Wellington. Managing implementation of projects, developing new and existing business and client opportunities; whilst providing technical leadership and supporting a growing team of Civil Engineers. You will be expected to work closely with the Land Development Manager and Technical Directors to provide expert advice and guidance where needed, and to ensure that all work contributes to the profitability of the team, business unit and discipline. You will help deliver the HG strategic plan and also provide coaching and mentoring to staff to build and develop the technical capability of the Harrison Grierson team.

Your skills and experience

  • 8+ years work experience delivering Land Development related projects
  • Ideally 2+ years experience in a senior or team leader capacity
  • Tertiary qualification - Bachelor's degree or similar
  • Proven track record working on successful proposals and tendering, ideally within the local and regional market
  • CPENG Status is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project teams
  • Proven experience in client relationship management and identification of opportunities
  • Personal leadership, motivation and self-management skills
