Customs Information Services is establishing a new group to take on the technical ownership of the newly developed New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD) product.

We are currently seeking the Tower Manager (NZTD) for this newly established position to lead the new group. The Tower Manager (NZTD) role is to be a pivotal manager within our IS technology group. This is a full-time permanent role, based in our Wellington Customhouse.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the Tower Manager (New Zealand Traveller Declaration Service) is accountable for working with our customers and agency partners to develop and run sustainable products and services that deliver on both tactical and strategic outcomes.

The Tower Manager (NZTD) is accountable for the culture, performance and growth of The New Zealand Traveller Declaration group and ensuring that the NZTD group is aligned to the wider Customs Business and IS strategy.

The role of Tower Manager will manage the groups finances, perform the Release Train Engineer duties, and take ownership of the group wide risks and issues, resource capacity and facilitate all-of-group ceremonies whilst also providing mentorship and guidance to the team's leadership.

The Tower Manager will also be an active member of the IS Leadership team, champion new ways of working, operational excellence, and contributing to both the evolution and deliver of the IS strategic plan.

The Tower Manager will be an active participant in the delivery and governance of NZTD including Customs responsibilities as Lead Agency for NZTD.

The successful applicant needs to have strong experience in developing and growing a high performing team that can benefit an organisation and its customers.

You will also need a strong financial capability and excellent stakeholder management skills. This role will enable you to demonstrate your strategic leadership capabilities and your communication and engagement strategies.
