The supply chain unit is responsible for controlling and supplying equipment and materials primarily to the Royal New Zealand Navy.

In this position, you will be joining a well-established and supportive team who are responsible for planning, procuring and maintaining NZDF inventory that supports the RNZN's maritime operations.


Typically you will be:

  • Reviewing stock;
  • Ordering;
  • Chasing suppliers;
  • Dealing with the warehouse;
  • Updating supplies; and
  • General inventory duties, typical to this kind of role.

We are looking for an individual with expertise in SAP IM and intermediate computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, as these are crucial for performing well in this position.

The role is busy, and the team's approach is to roll up their sleeves and get the job done, so we require someone with a similar work ethic.

Strong communication skills are a must, as you will be responsible for establishing and nurturing strong relationships with both suppliers and customers.

The Supply Chain is a sub-Unit within the Logistics Command (Maritime) that is responsible for controlling and supplying equipment and materials primarily to the Royal New Zealand Navy.

The Group provides a range of supply chain services, including transportation and freight forwarding, material preservation and packaging, warehousing, procurement, inventory management, and material data control.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.

- most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
