Cairnfield House is a privately owned caring Rest Home and Hospital located in Whangarei, New Zealand.  We pride ourselves in delivering excellent quality of care in our comfortable and cozy home for our residents.

We currently have an opening for full time (no less than 30 hours) Health Care Assistants to join our team in providing exceptional care in both our Rest Home and Hospital wings. Ongoing training will be scheduled throughout the year including support while working through your Careerforce NZ Training.

Mō te tūranga mahi - About the Role

This full time position is open to all levels of applicants from beginners through to level 4. You will be working rotating rostered shifts including weekends. You will be paid a Weekend allowance or Nocte allowance on top of your hourly rate when working those shifts. (For overseas applicants, we welcome you to apply and consideration will be given to you in line with immigration NZ policy. Please refer to the paragraph at bottom of page).

Ngā Responsibilities Matua | Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all activities of daily living safely including but not limited to, hygiene, dressing, nutritional assistance, mobilising, toileting and continence management.
  • Documentation of resident cares clearly and accurately on our Leecare programme.
  • Adhere to all policies and protocols in the home.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic environment and keeping infection control standards met within our home.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Attend compulsory trainings & meetings throughout the year to stay updated.

Mo Koe - About You

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate that you are honest, friendly, have empathy to our residents and their families/whanau, excellent communication skills - both written and verbal; and be a team player. Punctuality is essential.

We are an accredited employer with immigration NZ. You MUST be visa ready before applying including providing proof of OET or IELTS English Competency (results not more than 2 years old) and proof of Level 3 or 4 Careerforce Health and Wellbeing Qualifications or the Equivalent.

If you do not have this we require absolute proof of working in this industry for a minimum of two years for a Level 4 position, or three years for a Level 3 position. E.g. provide wage slips or a reputable company letter stating proof of employment with them from a company we can research or telephone.

You will not be considered if you do not provide evidence of the above requirements along with your application.
