Our services support youth aged 12-24 to build resilience, life skills, and strong connections with whānau, friends, and communities.
Whetū Marewa (Rising Star) is our primary mental health service in Whanganui, designed to strengthen confidence, resilience, and wellbeing for taiohi experiencing mild to moderate mental health or addiction challenges and social stressors.
We're a passionate team of clinicians and youth workers who meet taiohi where they are - at home, school, or in the community - offering flexible, youth-centred support.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
As a Clinician, you'll work alongside youth workers and a Team Coach to deliver the clinical components of Whetū Marewa. You'll provide assessments and interventions for taiohi and their whānau, using evidence-based approaches such as talking therapies, mentoring, and group activities to build confidence and community connections.
Key responsibilities include:
- Enhancing confidence, resilience, and wellbeing in taiohi
- Supporting taiohi to connect or reconnect with community services and take control of their lives
- Providing assessments and brief interventions
- Working in schools and communities to support primary mental health needs
This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, based in Whanganui.
You | Mōu
We're looking for a registered health professional (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Counsellor) with experience working with young people and mental health.
You will have:
- A current practicing certificate (SWRB, OTBNZ, NZAC, NCNZ)
- Experience in mental health
- Understanding of local community issues and tikanga Māori
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
- A positive, inspiring outlook and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Full NZ driver's licence
