About the role

Are you ready to lead the charge in cyber security at the heart of New Zealand's most innovative maritime gateway? Lyttelton Port Company (LPC) is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Operations & Analysis Lead to drive our cyber security operations, threat analysis, and incident response. You'll play a pivotal role in protecting our hybrid infrastructure, ensuring our systems are secure, resilient, and ready to meet evolving threats.

As our Senior Cyber Security Operations & Analysis Lead, you'll oversee threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and patch governance. You'll lead Blue and White Team activities, coordinate cyber security initiatives, and provide expert guidance on technical projects and operational improvements. This is a hands-on, specialist role where your expertise will directly impact the safety and efficiency of our port operations.

About you

You are a cyber security expert with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and are driven to stay ahead of emerging threats.

You bring:

  • 8+ years' experience in security operations, incident response, or consultancy
  • Proven expertise in threat analysis, Blue Team activities, and ethical hacking (White & Blue Hat)
  • Proficiency across endpoint, identity, email, SaaS, and OT security
  • Hands-on experience with EDR, IAM (EntraID/AD), network scanning tools, firewall/WAF technology, and SIEM log review
  • Strong troubleshooting and escalation response skills
  • Ability to manage incident response, vulnerability management, and patch governance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

It would also be an advantage if you have:

  • Security certifications (GCIA, GCED, GCFA, Security+, Microsoft SC-200, CrowdStrike CCFA/CCFR)
  • Experience with SIEM/SOAR integrations and OT/ICS cybersecurity (ISA/IEC 62443)
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust, identity federation, and advanced cloud security best practices
  • Familiarity with tools such as CrowdStrike, Cloudflare, Mimecast, Nmap, Windows Server, EntraID, M365 Security, Microsoft Defender, Quest Security Suite, VPN/Remote access technologies
