Cloud Platform Engineer I

Position Purpose: Administers and configures software and infrastructure services on the cloud platform (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure). Manages cloud infrastructure as code. Automates deployment and administration. Ensures security of cloud components. Works with the DevOps team to manage upgrades, enhancements, and software migrations to drive the successful deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications.

• Administers and supports cloud-based environments
• Executes code-based CI/CD deployment plans for new and existing infrastructure based on standards and best-practices provided
• Develops monitoring solutions that give greater visibility into performance and reliability of cloud environments
• Communicates regularly with Development, Network and Security groups and integrate their requirements in all environments build plans
• Builds and maintains capacity plans to include cloud-based deployments
• Develops and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing and advanced analytics
• Delivers continuous integration and delivery pipeline and standards by enabling common DevSecOps tooling in cloud environment and providing development teams with the ability to execute builds, run tests, and deploy in automated fashion
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 0 – 2 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. Or completion of a Centene-sponsored emerging talent program.

Technical Skills:

• One or more of the following skills are desired.
• Experience with one or more of the following Other: programming languages such as Java, C, Scala, Python, Erlang, Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, and Cloud Foundry
• Experience of Other: infrastructure automation languages such as Shell Scripting, Python, and Golang
• Experience with one or more of the following Other: configuration management software such as Ansible, and AWS SSM
• Experience with Other: networking and firewall concepts and troubleshooting

Preferred Skills:

• Curious about AI, developer platforms, and automation
• Experience with Terraform
• Eager to learn and grow in a fast-evolving cloud ecosystem

Soft Skills:

• Beginner - Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty
• Beginner - Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Pay Range: $ $54.03 per hour
