**Senior Security Engineer - Platform** The Senior Security Engineer is a deep technology specialist within their technology domain and performs tasks required to support our customers, services and platforms. The Senior Security Engineer is a key contributor within the operational team, planning and supporting implementation activities, executing life cycle activities, provide escalation and working on complex technology issues, problems, and incidents. The Senior Security Engineer also shares their technical expertise to support their peers and provide mentoring in their discipline whilst contributing to CCLs stringent SLA and governance practises. CCL is the largest sovereign cloud service provider in New Zealand. Key Accountabilities The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of CCL internal operational platforms and services, including: - Day to day technical administration and problem resolution across the supported platform systems. - Pro-actively monitor the environments, check logs, maintain capacity, and provide/support monitoring platforms for consumption by other value streams. - Ensure the systems are secured, monitored and backed up in accordance with CCL's policies. - Maintain and update system and process documentation, and ensure knowledge base articles are relevant and up to date, and available to stakeholders. - Provide SME contributions towards documentation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery procedures for systems and services. - Provide SME contributions towards current and planned developments/strategies within CCL. - Contribute to the 24x7 support roster for the team. - Ensure capabilities within your area of accountability are available and maintained for consumption by other teams and stakeholders. - Ensure service outages are minimised, and the systems are stable and reliable. - Ensure change management policies and procedures are adhered to, and changes are well documented and accurate. - Ensure performance or functionality issues are identified, analysed and resolved promptly. Our People - Ensure security related fixes are applied in a timely manner, systems are monitored to appropriate levels and backups are performed to the required standard and frequency. - Ensure all systems are well supported, providing a suitable, available platform. - Ensure vendor (Carriers, ISP's, hardware providers) support is available in a timely fashion. - Ensure timely and comprehensive advice is available on current and future capabilities and requirements. - Participate in Problem Management activities to provide SME knowledge of systems, and "big picture" knowledge of the environment - Participates in and encourages knowledge transfer and mentoring, sharing information to enable peers to be cross - skilled - Analyse and advise on impact of changes in technology. ensuring operational and security best practises are adopted and followed meeting all SLA targets - Certifying that the operational teams contribute to and meet their obligations under the various certifications held by CCL in particular focussing on the AOG construct - Ensuring that the balance between operational efficiency and compliance is met driving forward delivery of the CCL strategy and other key business initiatives - Provide SME contributions towards thought leadership within the CCL Common Platform space **Responsibilities**: - Delivery and ongoing management of our service and products within their technology domain » Adhere to organisational change and compliance practices, and ensure standards are complied with. - Ensure that automation is at the heart of delivery. - Design self-service capability for stakeholders wherever possible. - Adhere to DevOps culture where possible in the form of collaborative working - Contribute towards automation of tasks and work closely with peers of other disciplines - Be willing to adapt to areas that are outside your current skillset - Have and develop a broader knowledge than focussing purely on your area of expertise - Contribute towards road mapping of solutions - Achieve an understanding of Stakeholders requirements, and continually strive to achieve their requirements in the most effective manner - Ensure your team's capabilities are increased by developing a wider scope of technical knowledge and mentoring those within your team Our People Training & Certifications Tools - IT related professional qualification, or equivalent e
