About the role

This is an exciting part-time opportunity to join the team at the Alexandra District Club as a Duty Manager and or Cook. Ideally one person will be able to cover both roles as needed, but will consider 2 people for the separate roles. In this role (s), you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club, ensuring a high level of customer service. The club is located in the scenic town of Alexandra, Otago.

What you'll be doing

  1. Working with the front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and seamless service
  2. Assisting the Chef with the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to club members and guests
  3. Ensuring the club adheres to all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations
  4. Handling customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  5. Assisting with the implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives to attract new member
  6. Providing hands-on support in the kitchen as required

What we're looking for

  1. Experience in a similar duty manager or supervisory role within the hospitality industry
  2. Strong culinary skills and experience in, food preparation and kitchen practices
  3. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere
  4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  5. Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the hospitality sector
  6. Ability to work well in a team and lead a team of staff
  7. Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and priorities
